Don’t let our name fool you, although Allied Propane Service is the leading provider of propane energy in the northern California Bay Area, propane is not all we do. As a vineyard manager or farmer, you need to protect your vines and/or crops from the damage that can be done by a sudden onset of cold. At Allied Propane Service, we recommend using wind machines for this purpose. Why? Because wind machines start automatically as soon as a specific low temperature is reached. Once running, their propellers circulate warmed air through your fields and prevent the formation of frost, which subsequently protects your crops from damage.

• Variably sized tanks allow you to have your choice of fill capacities.
• Piping from the tank to the wind machine makes for continual and dependable operation.
• Automatic tank monitoring and propane delivery mean you’ll never run out of propane when you need it most. We also offer discounts to our high-volume customers.

Frost Alert Program

Allied Propane Service is a sponsor of the Frost Alert Program. We help pay for this program on behalf of our vineyard customers because we believe it is critical to the success and livelihoods of the vineyard community in Northern California.

This program is operated by Napa Valley grape growers. The mission of the Frost Alert Program is to notify vineyard managers when the temperature is likely to drop dangerously low and to make sure their wind machines are positioned and ready.
